Calhoun Privacy Notice

This notice describes the information Calhoun County Released Inmates receives, how it is used, and when service providers or lawful authorities may receive it. It applies to searches, messages, routine technical logs, and cookies connected with use of the site. By continuing to browse or use a feature, a visitor accepts the practices stated here. Links to the Calhoun County Sheriff, Michigan Department of Corrections, courts, and other services lead to separate systems with their own privacy rules.

Information You Submit

Terms entered in search.

A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search. Calhoun County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own system. The provider’s policy controls its receipt and handling of the submitted query.

Messages sent to us.

An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to read the request and send a reply. It is not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law, legal process, or a valid government order.

Automatic Technical Details

Normal web systems may record limited technical and usage data each time a page loads. This helps operate the service, diagnose faults, and understand traffic patterns. The data can include:

  • The connection’s IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device class and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps for requests

Cookies and browser controls.

Cookies and similar tools may be used to measure how visitors move through the site and to support features. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or cleared. Disabling them can cause some functions or preferences to work differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected information is used only for ordinary site and service purposes, including:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Sending search requests to the selected partner
  • Learning which Calhoun County resources visitors use
  • Finding errors, abuse, and technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests

Privacy Beyond This Website

Links may lead to the Calhoun County Sheriff jail page, its P2C current-inmate service, the county’s FOIA information, the Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS gateway, parole and probation resources, courts, BOP or ICE services, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination’s privacy notice and terms apply. Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 through 15.246, governs qualifying requests for existing public records from covered Michigan public bodies. It does not govern this private website’s privacy practices, and Michigan courts use court rules rather than FOIA.

Advertising companies may use their own technology to understand activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs on their systems and is governed by their notices and opt-out processes.

Parties That May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold. Limited information may be transmitted or disclosed when needed for the service or required by law. Potential recipients are:

  • Search partners that process submitted queries
  • Analytics providers that measure site use
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Safeguards and Their Limits

Reasonable, commonly used security measures are applied to information within our control. No website, connected service, or transmission method can be guaranteed fully secure. Calhoun County Released Inmates therefore cannot promise that a breach, loss, or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Younger Than Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.
